M.S.W, mother of Army Spc. Suzanne Swift
“Courage to Resist were amazing and continue to support my daughter and me through a horrible battle and ordeal with the US Army…”
My daughter Suzanne went AWOL days before her second deployment to Iraq as a result of her severe post traumatic stress disorder and military sexual trauma of her first tour.
When she didn’t return to Iraq, we were scared to death and did not know where to turn for help. However, we found Courage to Resist. The support and care we received and continue to receive has been invaluable.
When your child is in crisis and facing a huge battle, as a mother, I felt very alone. The staff and volunteers of Courage to Resist were amazing and continue to support my daughter and me through a horrible battle and ordeal with the US Army.
The most important support we received was the emotional support during a very dark and scary time for our family. Their guidance around activism, media, and building the website helped us navigate through unknown waters.
Courage to Resist is a center point for soldiers and families who understand that what is happening in the Middle East is not right. They have the understanding and knowledge to find the resources your family and soldier need to say no more!
