Sunday February 4:
Rally Outside The Gates of Fort Hood
11:30am to 3pm (leave Austin at 10am)
Austin activists will travel to Killeen ,Texas (see carpool info below) where they will meet other activists from across the state to Rally For The Troops outside the gates of Fort Hood. We will pass out GI Rights Hotline literature and information about Lt. Watada and his court case.
We’ll meet up at the gas station (next to 7-11) near the East Gate of Ft. Hood. From Austin travel North on IH-35. Near Belton take Exit 293A and follow the signs to US 190W toward Killeen. In Killeen take the Fort Hood / TX-195 exit (do not go to the Main Gate). Continue on US 190W to FM 439 where you will turn right. The gas station and East Gate or at the end of FM 439 where it T’s into Tank Destroyer Blvd/Rancier.

*Austinites wanting to carpool/caravan: Meet at 9:30AM in the parking lot of the LBJ Library on Red River between Manor Rd. and Dean Keeton. There is a green “LBJ Library Visitor’s Parking” sign at the entrance to the lot. We will be on the right along the median.
Monday February 5:
Rally at Camp Mabry and Along MoPac 7am to 9am
We will rally near Camp Mabry and along MoPac to continue our show of solidarity with the troops and Lt. Watada as his court martial begins. We will pass out more GI Rights and Lt. Watada information to Texas Military Forces stationed at Mabry.
**Meet at the 35th Street entrance to Camp Mabry at 7am. At about 8am we will reconvene at the Hancock overpass over MoPac for mass outreach to the general commuting public.
Court Martial Update & “The Ground Truth” Screening 6pm to 9pm

This will be an opportunity for the general public to gather in support of Lt. Watada. We will provide an update on Lt. Watada’s case and show a video of Lt. Watada speaking out against the war in Iraq. We will also screen the documentary “The Ground Truth”.
