Letters of support for clemency needed for Reality Winner

Letters of support for clemency needed for Reality Winner
Reality L. Winner, a whistleblower who helped expose foreign hacking of US election systems leading up to the 2016 presidential election, has been behind bars since June 3, 2017. She’s scheduled to be released from prison on December 29, 2021. This is by far the longest sentence ever given in federal court for leaking information to the media about a matter of public interest.

The Friends of Reality Winner, an effort that Courage to Resist helped launch in the days following Reality’s arrest, are preparing to file a petition of clemency on her behalf. Basically, it’s a formal request to the president for a reduced sentence and early release. To get the president’s attention, whomever that may be at the time the petition arrives on his or her’s desk, the more letters of support from individuals and organizations, the better.

Note that if you feel uncomfortable with the salutation of the standard letter of support, which reads, “To the Honorable President of These United States” (or any other part of the letter), please write your own letter and email it to RealityAngel.Liz@activist.com (.pdf, .doc or .rtf files only please.)

Thanks for the show of support for Reality. “Friends of Reality” and its many followers have been doing everything they can think of to try to get her out of prison. They need all the help they can get.

Donald Trump today just pardoned 3 members of the military who were either convicted of murder, should have been convicted or murder, or should have been tried for murder:
    1) army 1st Lt. Clint Lorrance, who had served 6 years of a 19 year sentence for murdering 3 Afghan citizens and had his own men testify against him
    2) Chief petty officer and Navy Seal Edward Gallagher, who murdered an Afghan civilian and then posed next to his corpse. He was found not guilty of murder but guilty of posing with a dead body. They let him get away with murder and then punished him for taking an obscene picture.
    3) Amy major Matthew Golsteyn, who still hadn’t gone on trial yet for murdering an alleged Taliban bomb maker in Afghanistan in 2010. Now he doesn’t ever have to go on trial.

But he won’t pardon Reality Winner for trying to protect our democracy from Russian hacking!!!!!!!!!!
