We unequivocally condemn Russia’s horrific invasion of Ukraine, while also opposing western militarism and increased US military spending.

Throughout April, the University of San Francisco is hosting events highlighting GI resistance against the US war in Vietnam. In person and via Zoom.
We’re a group of concerned community members, veterans and military families who support military objectors to illegal war and occupation and the policies of empire. Our People Power strategy weakens the pillars that maintain war and occupation in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere by supporting GI resistance, counter-recruitment and draft resistance, which cuts off the supply of troops. We are autonomous from and independent of any political organization or party.

US style-invasions are morally indefensible, even when other countries do it. Nonviolent civilian-based defense can send the invading Russian Army home.

“It was pure hell… for the fact that I took that stand. I mean, all the labels, “Draft Dodger”, “Pinko”, “Commie”, “Shirker””, recalls Fran Da Vinci.
The persecution of Julian Assange by the U.S. government is a threat against free speech and free press. Free Julian Assange! No to U.S. wars!
The problem of veterans being turned away from the health care they require, and may be legally entitled to, goes far beyond military objectors.
DoD Instruction 1325.06 amounts to only a small improvement in the military’s attempt to eliminate racism within its ranks.
It’s nearing the end of another calendar year, so it is again time for me to self-assess, “How do I know if I made a difference?” I volunteer & contribute.
“Having signed a six-year contract, I thought there was absolutely nothing I could do. I just needed to hunker down and fulfill my contract.”

We don’t have a draft today because widespread, visible, and widely supported resistance forced an end to the draft before the end of the US war in Vietnam.
