Henderson, Abdul

ImageLance Corporal Abdul Henderson, 32, joined the Marine Corps Reserves in 1999 and served two months in Iraq in 2003, where he won a Marine Corps Achievement Medal. While still a Marine, he said he would refuse any further deployment to Iraq. “I’m standing up for what I believe in,” he says. He became an antiwar activist, speaking out on campuses and communities and in the Michael Moore film “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
